Mitch Kapor
Mitch Kapor is a software entrepreneur and investor best known as the founder of Lotus Development Corporation and creator of Lotus 1-2-3, the spreadsheet application that drove the adoption of personal computers in business throughout the 1980s. Before founding Lotus, Kapor worked at VisiCorp where he developed VisiPlot and Visi Trend add-in packages. At Lotus, he helped build one of the most commercially dominant software companies of the early PC era. He Also served on the board of the Boston Computer Society.
After Lotus, Mr. Kapor co-founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation and has remained a prominent figure in technology policy, civic tech, and impact investing. His career is one of the defining stories of how Boston's software industry helped shape the global personal computing revolution.
